New Kent League eScorecard v2

The online form has been revamped to make it easier to fill in: team names chosen from a list and emails then added automatically. - fill it in completely and click the Check and Submit buttons - simples.

It is the preferred method of submitting Kent League Results, the use of Excel and Word templates has been withdrawn and is deprecated

It is available from KL eScorcards on the main menu and currently from the Latest News pane on the Home Page.

Copies will automatically be sent to both captains.

A Blank eScorecard to print and take to your games is also available from KPA Mangement/Documents on the main menu and currently from the Latest News pane on the Home Page.

KPA v District Maritime 14th August 2010

On the 14th August 2010 we have our annual match against District Maritime from Dunkerque in France. This is being held at Lordswood Petanque Club starting at 09:00.

The squad will mainly be made up of players who qualified from the Inter Regional Qualifiers, however, we do have some vacancies for players. If you are interested in playing please contact Martin Eggleton on 07703 195 723.

Fee is £25 and includes breakfast and lunch with our French friends!

If you do not want to play spectators are more than welcome, come along and see a good days petanque!

Novices Competitions and a weekend of Good Pétanque

In the Autumn there are trio of events aimed to attract players who don't often venture out at the weekend.

• Chairman's Cup - Lordswood S&SC, Saturday 25^th September
  This is a fun competition played on the Saturday. Fun and free to enter but with a prize of £150. Entries are restricted to players who supported the KPA by participating in any of the County Squad Qualifying competitions but were unfortunate not to qualify as a player for the Inter-Regional Championship. So all you have to do to be eligable to play in the Chairman's Cup is to play in the last County Qualifying competition at Star Meadow Sports Club on Sunday 11^th July.
• Novices Competition - Lordswood S&SC, Sunday 26^th September
  This really is for players who don't often venture out at the weekend. Indeed, in order to be eligible to enter you must never have won a prize at a Sunday Open Competition, and to encourage very new players: one member of each team can be a non-licence holder . Again entry is free. This competition will be played alongside the Kent County Triples Championship so having enjoyed their own competition, participants can then watch the finals of the Triples Championship, seeing the County's best at their peak.
• Kent League Handicap - Hartley CC, Sunday 17^th October
  This is open to any triples team made of players who regularly play in the Kent League. Although not compulsory it is recommended that you play with your members of your normal KL squad. This is a handicap so if a division 7 team is drawn against a division 1 team they will start with at least 6 points. Prizes will be paid to the winning teams' club funds. - More details soon.

Colin Short

We are sad to report the death of Colin Short of Lordswood Tempest (Div 4) who died of a heart attack on Wed 28 May 2010. The Cremation will be at Bluebell Hill Crematorium on Mon 7 Jun 2010 at 1340 hours. A long time member of Lordswood Petanque Club and former Head Groundsman he will be missed by all his many friends.

Babe Kettering

We are sad to report the death of Babe Kettering on the 2nd February. Babe was a long time member of SEAL P.C. and is best remembered for her long term playing partnership with Joy Drumey and prior to that with Mo Brookes and Freda.

Babe's funeral will be at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium, Balcombe Road, Crawley, RH10 3NQ, at 12 noon Wednesday 24^th February.

KPA 2010 Calendar - Club Competitions

Requests, with dates, for your club's open competitions to be included in the KPA 2010 Calendar should be emailed to Annette Eggleton or Andy Mills or both by 19^th February.

KPA 2010 County Qualifier Competitions

The Rules for KPA 2010 County Qualifier Competitions are now available.

There are considerable changes from last year so please aquaint yourselves with them before the series starts.

Cup Round Postponement

The Cup and Plate games scheduled for 6^th January will be played on 13^th January, and the fixtures of January 13^th will be played on 10^th March.
