The KPA Summer League has finished with a new name on the Division 1 Trophy. Meadow 1 are an experienced team that had to vacate their previous headquarters at the Plough and Chequers and found a new home at Star Meadow Sports and Social Club. Having only lost two games throughout the season, they can be considered worthy champions. Close on their heels were runners up Lordswood Mistral, and these two teams had clear water between them and the rest of the field.
The losers this year were relegated Mossy's Rats and Fighting Cocks. The latter have gone from champions last year to relegation this season having lost their venue before the season even got under way, and have had to play their games at the George. They can consider themselves slightly unfortunate to fail to survive by a single point. In Division 2 Meadow 2 were convincing winners, and after a very close final day where 4 teams were still in with a chance of second place, they are joined in promotion to the top division by Hartley Eagles, giving both clubs 2 teams in the top tier next season. Hartley Merlins were relegated, and unluckiest of all Crown A lost out to Wheatsheaf. Both teams had 30 wins, and minus 70 points difference, but Crown had scored 676 points to Wheatsheaf's 678.
Toviliers were clear winners of division 3, with Duke of Wellington Campaigners securing second place by only points difference ahead of three chasing teams. Singleton Barn and Mossy's Regulars suffered relegation. For Mossy's teams this makes an unwelcome relegation double.
Division 4 was also close with only 5 points covering the top 7 teams. Walnut Tree claimed the top spot on 42 wins, with a late surge up the table. Second by a single game were Ightham on 41 wins, ahead of 2 teams on 40 points. Relegated were 3 Tuns and Veterans. Some sympathy must be with Veterans who have had a difficult season. Having moved from their home in Boughton Monchelsea to play at Redstart, they lost their venue again. We wish them better fortune next season.
Harriers 2 were clear winners in Division 5, and they are joined by runners up Star Meadow Sports in Division 4 next year. This completes a hat trick of successes for the teams playing at the Star Meadow Sports and Social Club venue. Relegated are Sydney Arms by points difference, and Beauty of Bath 2.
Clear champions of Division 6 are Lordswood Moldavians, and promoted with them are White House Presidents who had a clear lead over third place. Relegated are Ditton Kiln Barners and Duke of Wellington Troopers.
In Division 7 Sherwood Oak are champions and Borstal Sandpipers are in second place. Both teams having a clear advantage over their opponents. Taking the wooden spoon are Henley Street Cocks, but only by points difference over Ditton Streamliners.
